About the Artist

Sara Sandberg is a photo composite artist based in Stockholm. She was born in Korea and adopted at a very young age by Swedish parents. Sara spent her childhood growing up in Germany and Sweden back and forth throughout the years. Later in life she lived in the big cities of London and Paris. Although having worked in business and governmental environments throughout her life, Sara has always had a great love for the arts and has particularly pursued the medium of watercolours for many years.

Sara developed her skills in digital photo artistry through attending various courses in digital art and has developed a personal style in her work where she combines photography and digital painting with her artistic vision. She works with light and shadow to mold the scene she visualizes into a finished piece adopting a combination of photo-realism and painterly style.

Since a few years Sara is a member of an international group of photoshop artists run by Sebastian Michaels (founder of Photoshop Artistry and the internationally acclaimed AWAKE Group). Sara was featured artist in the 73rd edition of the magazine Living the Photo Artistic Life and interviewed on the Quill and Camera blog by Michaels. Sara has also appeared in the German DigitalPhoto Magazin and has twice received recognition in the Swedish photography magazine Kamera&Bild for her photo art composites. Sara was awarded the 18th Solo Art Exhibition of Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery (LST). In the 16th Julia Margaret Cameron Award of The WorldWide Photography Gala Awards, Sara received 2nd place and honourable mention for 2 of her single contributions in the category Digital Manipulation & Collage and a honourable mention in the same category for her series. Some of her work will be showing in the FotoNostrum Gallery, House of Mediterranean Photography, Barcelona, in December 21.  Following the 2021 Summer Solo and Photographic Visions exhibition competition Sara was awarded to exhibit at the PH21 Gallery in Budapest 31 Jul-18 Aug 21 together with a select number of artists.
